Many people are referred to us by e.g. schools, health and social care workers, or benefits agencies or advice workers. However you can come to us without a referral if you are in need. We can give you details of where you can get further help and advice.
Who can use our food bank? We provide food to people in need. We are sorry, but due to increased demand, from January 2023, we will only be able to help you if you live in Oadby. This includes clients who have used us before. We will do our best to refer people from other areas to another food bank, or to their local authority, for help.
If you are working or studying and need the food bank but cannot get to us between 11.30 to 12.30 on food bank days, we can arrange for you to collect food in the evening of food bank day, between 6.00 pm and 6.30 pm. THIS MUST BE PRE-ARRANGED EACH TIME by contacting us on the food bank phone – 07723 121794 by the Thursday evening prior to the food bank.
We will not be there in the evening for collection of food unless you text or phone us in advance. Thank you!
Where are we based? Oadby Trinity Methodist Church, Harborough Road, LE2 4LA. The building is next to Zeph’s café.
Where does our food come from? We receive donations of food and money from the public, and get food from the charity FareShare which receives surplus food from supermarkets and suppliers for redistribution thus reducing food waste. We have also received grants from, for example, the County Council and the Borough Council and various local organisations, trusts and businesses.

When are we open? We are open for people to collect food from the food bank every fortnight on Fridays between 11.30 and 12.30. (See above for next food bank dates)
What if I need food urgently on another day? We can help you with emergency food on other days if you contact us between 9am and 5pm. Please don’t come down to the church as we may not be there. Please use the food bank contact details, and not the church phone number.
